The OpenSSL Foundation will be attending FOSDEM ‘26 in Brussels, Belgium on Saturday, January 31 through Sunday, February 1, 2026, and we’d like to connect with you!
The Free and Open Source Developers’ European Meeting (FOSDEM) is a volunteer-organized event to promote the widespread use of free and open source software. The conference includes more than 1,000 events across two days, taking place in 40 rooms on the ULB Solbosch Campus. There is no fee to participate and attend.

We’re especially excited to have a stand this year. You can find the OpenSSL Foundation stand in Building K, in the Level 2 corridors. Building K is also where the main Info Desk is located.
All six of our software engineers and our community manager will be in attendance. Stop by our stand to meet the team and get some fun OpenSSL Foundation swag sporting our new logo. There’s even a limited edition sticker that’s only available if you know the “secret code.” (It’s not much of a secret, though – the code is “doughnut.”)
On Saturday, you can find Tomáš Mráz, Chief Technology Officer, in the Security dev room, which he’s helped coordinate.
On Sunday, Jon Ercison, Communities Manager, will be presenting a talk on How the OpenSSL community was built on Heartbleed. Come hear how the worst day for the OpenSSL community also may have been the best day. Sessions tend to fill up fast, with queues outside the door before a talk begins, so arrive early if you’d like to attend.
If you’d like to schedule an individual meeting with any member of our team, you can reach them directly from our People page. We hope to see you there!
