As previously announced, OpenSSL Foundation will have one advisory committee following the next election. The current members of the Foundation's Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will have their terms extended to September 2027. This September, we will elect representatives from each community to start a two-year term on the advisory committee. In this way, we’ll have one committee with up to two representatives for each community serving alternating terms.

Timeline

Starting now—We encourage everyone to join an OpenSSL community.

August—Anyone interested in representing their community may nominate themselves. Nominations will be for the entire month of August.

September 1–14—Each community will vote on their representative for the Foundation advisory committee.

September 15—Election results announced.

October 12 (tentative)—Committee members who are attending the OpenSSL Conference are invited to join the Foundation staff for a face-to-face meeting.

Please consider now whether you might nominate yourself. If you have any questions, please contact Jon Ericson at jon.ericson@openssl.foundation.
