The OpenSSL Foundation just completed restructuring the Foundation Advisory Committee. Our 2026-2027 committee is:
Academics:
Committers:
Distributions:
Individuals:
Large Businesses:
Small Businesses – [vacant]
Each representative is elected for a two-year term. The end of each representative's term is listed in parentheses above. As you can see, there are three vacant seats on the committee. If someone nominates themselves, we could run a special election to fill them. Please contact jon.ericson@openssl.foundation if you are interested.
Historically the OpenSSL ecosystem has been dominated by the sort of highly technical people who contribute to open source projects. But our mission includes everyone. Advisory committees are a great way for other community members to get involved. If you haven’t already, join the OpenSSL community platform where we discuss the future of the project. It's also where the Foundation Advisory Committee has their discussions.
The committee will be participating in a panel discussion at the OpenSSL Conference. This is a reprise of the 2025 Foundation committees panel. We hope to see many of you there to ask questions and talk to us after the presentation.
