Announcing our 2025 Annual Report

We’re pleased to announce the release of OpenSSL Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report, covering the period of our 2025 fiscal year, from August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025. The report is available online now, and we’ll be hosting a live webinar to share its highlights on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 15:00 (3:00pm) UTC. Sign up for the webinar here.  

The annual report is the most important document we produce each year, showcasing our mission, accomplishments, finances, and donors. It is the key way that we provide transparency to our funders, community, and the general public. Whether you’ve been part of the OpenSSL community for a long time or are just learning about the Foundation, we invite you to take a look and see what we’ve been up to. 

This report is particularly special as it represents the Foundation's first full year of operations as an independent entity with its own staff, finances, and programs. We’ve done a lot in that year! You’ll read about our newly adopted mission statement, community initiatives like our first-ever user survey, open source software conferences we’ve attended, our work on OpenSSL 3.4 and 3.5, and more. 

As a nonprofit organization, we rely entirely on gifts, grants, and other contributions to power our mission, and we owe particular thanks to all those organizations and people who provided financial support in fiscal year 2025. We hope you enjoy reading the spotlight articles on two of those funders – Sovereign Tech Agency and FLOSS/fund – and that you, too, will consider making a gift to help power our mission into the future.
